Your brain is hardwired to hone in on negativity and fear. While that might not make much sense now, it does for our ancestors. They needed to survive, and the only way for the species to last was to be proactive about danger. Unfortunately for you (and me), our primal instincts refuse to leave.

We are all guilty of negativity bias, it is essentially our default setting. When you look at the headlines highlighting mass shootings, political corruption, billionaires getting richer while the poor get poorer… how can you find hope in a world like this?

It might be the default, but you do not have to put up with a constant state of fight or flight. You can overcome fear, you can beat pessimism, and you can find hope and optimism even if it feels as though the world is crumbling around you.

Humanity has a lot of good to offer, your heart has hope, and you deserve to live a life free of fear. This is something you can claim for yourself if you really want to.

I’m going to share with you just how you can do this, and I want to remind you that you will not find happiness unless you first find hopefulness.

You will not find healing without first finding hopefulness. Without hopefulness, there can be no humility.

Stay hopeful!
