Winter weekend with wonderful women and wine
I spent a weekend, early in August, in the Macedon Ranges outside of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The Macedon Ranges are a region about an hour’s drive from Melbourne. They are touted as “the” region that will stimulate your every sense – touch, sight, sound and smell.
The landscapes are dramatic and undulating in the region. The area produces excellent food, produce and wonderful cool-climate wines. There are breathtaking heritage gardens, forests, wildlife, natural hot springs, and fresh, clean air. It is definitely a place to rejuvenate the senses and the soul.
The purpose of the weekend, you ask?
A friend of mine, Donna Grey, runs small group tours here in Australia and over in Bali, Indonesia.
These tours are, especially for women. Donna’s concept is simple – take the hard work out of taking a break by letting someone else organise your visit to include everything that rejuvenates a woman’s mind, body and soul. Her motto ”Inspire Your World With Positive Steps” and what better way to do that this than through travel.
The tours include lots of pampering, lovely places to sta and great food to eat. There are always fun games to play, competitions to win, mini-workshops, and food for the soul.
Walk with Wisdom tours, is a remarkable tour experience for women everywhere. Donna, your host and organizer, takes you on a weekend escape from your everyday life. It leaves you wishing for more of the same.
The weekends and indeed all of the tours, give you time to connect with other women, build new friendships, and forge a connection with other wonderful women.
Why is it important to take time out of our busy schedules?
I don’t know about you, but life seems to be speeding up and becoming busier than ever.
I thought that it would slow down as I got older, but it hasn’t.
There’s pressure to achieve more. I’m being bombarded by outside influences, telling me who I should be, what I should be doing and when I should do it. The months seem to disappear and before I know it, another new year has begun.
I found out the hard way. An over-active, over-stimulated lifestyle, leads to burning myself. Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and any other ‘ally’ that you can think of.
Taking time out is something that I have not totally mastered. It is not as easy as I thought it would be. Sounds silly I know! How hard can it be to take some time out? To relax, catch up with friends and family, to reconnect with your partner, your children, yourself and your inner voice??
The benefits of doing so, are well worth the effort and organisation it takes to do so.
After the weekend get-away, at the beginning of the month, I have had the most creative, and clarity filled month, in many years. It has seen benefits for myself, my business and my family. I’ve had offers come that I never imagined. Done deals I never thought I was capable of and had the most amazing creative clarity around my business.
That my friends IS always a good thing.
So take that break and reconnect with friends, You will. and reap the benefits in your life.
